While the event focused on foreign policy, only 54 percent of the tweets sent pertained to foreign policy matters.
105,767 tweets per minute were sent at 9:43 p.m. EST,?when President Obama?made?his ?fewer horses than bayonets? barb at Republican presidential hopeful Mitt Romney.
The first debate, on Oct. 3, set a Twitter record. 10.2 million tweets were?sent?during the event, the most sent during a U.S. political event in Twitter?s short history.
7.2 million tweets were?sent?during the the second presidential debate on Oct. 16, according to Twitter?s official count.
