Resurgent Volvo is enjoying increasing success in the leasing and contract hire market, as the firm reasserts itself as a premium, quality brand.

Since being sold by Ford to Zhejiang Geely Holding Group in 2010, the Swedish carmaker has worked hard to increase its share of the business car sector, recently launching a Business Sales Academy to build customer relations and support dealers. It seems the hard work is paying off, as the brand reports that corporate registrations, including leasing, have increased 32% year to date. Dealer-based corporate and leasing registrations rose from 5,327 (January - June 2011) to 7,013 (January - June 2012).

The carmaker is expecting the rest of 2012 to keep up the pace of growth, with the new V40 hatchback helping to boost sales. It?s expected that some 70 per cent of V40 sales will be through corporate channels through the year. The V40 hatchback is proving its salt in a highly competitive sector thanks to its combination of strong fuel economy, low running costs and low tax bandings. But best of all , is that its packed with class-leading safety technology such as the world's first Pedestrian Airbag and City Safety as standard. List prices start from ?19,745.

Volvo?s new Business Sales Academy is part of the carmakers Volvo's strategy for transparent communication channels, creating a seamless link from the Head Office right through to the dealer and then to the customer. To date over 300 Volvo staff have attended and successfully completed the Business Sales Consultant course.

Selwyn Cooper, Volvo Car UK's National Corporate Operations Manager, said: "We are committed to providing our customers with relevant and accurate advice as they search for vehicles that will compliment their business and contribute to company savings as well as providing their drivers with cars they are happy to drive. Our Business Sales Academy launched this year and has already seen some impressive results and customer feedback has been very positive."
