GRAND HAVEN, Mich. (WZZM) -- Saturday was hot and humid, but that didn't stop?nearly 100,000 people?from showing up for the Meijer Grand Parade in downtown Grand Haven.
The procession, which is a part of the Grand Haven Coast Guard Festival, lasted about two hours and included more than 150 floats, groups and bands. One of those groups included in the parade was WZZM 13, as George Lessens, Alana Nehring and Alex Shabad all joined in the fun.
The heat made Dorothy Walker's lemonade stand one of the top attractions at the festival. She has been serving lemonade during the parade for more than 15 years.
"I'm always worried that?I'm going to wind up with all this stuff left, ya know? And then, all of a sudden, it's a deluge, they all arrive," Walker said. "So, yeah, my daughter and I have been making lemonade until we're blue in the face this morning."
If the weather permits, the Coast Guard Festival will wrap up with fireworks Saturday night.
