'Dia De Los Muertos' Halloween Body-Painting Celebrates Day of ...

Originated in Mexico and celebrated around the world, D?a de los Muertos (Day of the Dead) is a festival that pays tribute to the deceased. People often wear costumes and get tattoos or body-painting done to fully enjoy the festivities which frequently include a zombie-like parade. For modern urbanites living in big cities such as New York, San Francisco, Vancouver, Toronto or anywhere else, Day of the Dead is best celebrated during the Halloween season.

While death is often dreaded and feared in many cultures, Dia De Los Muertos in Mexico is a celebration and a holiday. The honoring of those souls who have passed on starts at midnight the night of Oct. 31 and goes on until Nov. 02.
